For plain bearings operating in oxidising atmospheres.
Journal bearings manufactured from a copper- aluminium alloy of high mechanical properties having a machined cross- hatching and a metallic diffusion treatment on the bearing surface.
The COD 11 bearing has wear and seizure resistance properties together with very high corrosion resistance in sea water.
Surface characteristics: the surface bearing is mechanically cross- hatched preferentially oriented in the direction of the rotation. This enables a better distribution of lubricant and repartition of pressure, and is effective in the entrapment of abrasive particles. The metallic diffusion treatment provides a high surface hardness, a good wear and seizure resistance without detriment to excellent adaptability and corrosion resistance of the copper-aluminium alloy.
